Road Construction & Maintenance Team Member

As South Australia’s largest rural council, Coorong District Council offers unique employment opportunities to make a meaningful impact in our community. We are looking for a motivated and skilled Road Construction & Maintenance Team Member to join our infrastructure team.  Based at our Tailem Bend Works Depot, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving our road network, contributing directly to the wellbeing and connectivity of our region.

 

About the Role:

  • Construct and maintain sealed and unsealed roads, footpaths, and drainage systems.
  • Operate plant and equipment including graders and other heavy machinery.
  • Support infrastructure projects that enhance public safety and access.
  • Contribute to asset management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive image of Council through quality service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.

About You:

  • Experience in road construction, maintenance, or a related field.
  • Practical skills in operating machinery and maintaining infrastructure, particularly in grader operations
  • HC class driver’s licence and White Card – preferred.
  • Completion of Work Zone Traffic Management course.
  • Physical fitness and a proactive, safety-conscious attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team spirit.
